Latter Dr. Naresh Babu underwent a year long specialization in minimally invasive spine surgery at National University Hospital Singapore.

Through this fellowship he was exposed to the management of entire range of spinal disorders as well as most advanced spinal surgeries like cervical and lumbar artificial disc replacements, thoracoscopic spinal instrumentation for scoliosis correction, complex occipito-cervical reconstructions, tumor resections and reconstructions. The research work done during this period on thoracoscopic scoliosis corrections won him the Young Orthopedic Investigator Award by Singapore Orthopaedic Association. Dr. Naresh Babu specialises in Minimally invassive spine surgery like micro endoscopic discectomy for lumbar and cervical disc prolapse, minimally invassive lumbar and cervical spinal fixations and fusions, spinal deformity corrections and complex spinal reconstructions. He has special interest in skeletal fluorosis and its effects on spine.

The research work done by him in this field well appreciated and received the Silver Jubilee Orator Award from the Indian Orthopaedic Association. The work done by him on spinal deformity correction in children received VT Ingalhalikar Gold Medal by Association Of Spine Surgeons of India and Consultant Gold Medal by Orthopaedic surgeons Association of South Indian States.
